Aaron Charbonnet holds the position of General Counsel at Fortress Energy. Aaron assists Fortress in creating, implementing, and facilitating strategic partnerships with mineral and working interest owners throughout the Permian Basin, as well as assisting Fortress in a wide range of legal matters—from entity formation to dispute resolution and litigation.

Aaron graduated Cum Laude from Texas Tech University. After graduating from Texas Tech, he continued his education at the University of Texas School of Law, where he focused on corporate transactions and oil and gas law.

Upon graduating from law school and passing the bar, Aaron went to work for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, where he worked primarily in a land and business development role. At Anadarko, Aaron oversaw the exploration and development of over 15,000 net leasehold acres and over 10,000 net royalty acres, and helped close over 4,000 acres of acquisitions, divestitures, acreage trades, and leases.

He is an active member of the Midland community, primarily through his church and various charitable organizations. He is also a member of the Texas State Bar, the Midland County Bar Association, ADAM-Permian, and other legal and industry-focused associations.
