Prior to joining Fortress Energy, Ryan was Chief Financial Officer at Bold Energy III which was a $275MM partnership with EnCap Investments. From 2013 to 2018, Bold Energy assembled a 21,000 acre position in the heart of the Midland Basin and drilled over 30 horizontal wells. The company was ultimately acquired by Earthstone Energy Inc. (NYSE: ESTE). Prior to Bold Energy, Ryan served in similar positions with Clayton Williams Energy Inc. (NYSE: CWEI) and ProPetro Services Inc. after beginning his career in banking.

Ryan earned his undergraduate degree in Finance and his MBA from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University where he was a member of the Red Raider Baseball team.

Ryan and his wife, Amy, are natives of Midland and have four children. He is actively involved in the Midland community and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Midland Christian School and the Board of Directors of Fostering Restoration Ministries.
